Do you love superheroes? Comic books? Are you interested in politics, but you’re tired of partisanship and crave nuanced discussion of important issues? Do you value fairness in political discussion? Are you afraid that people in western society have generally lost the ability to engage with each other about important issues? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Here you’ll find posts that explore the political and philosophical questions raised by comics, superhero movies, and television shows. Sometimes I get fairly deep into contemporary political problems, but I try always to avoid partisanship. Like everyone else, I have my own political opinions and biases, but here I try my best to avoid preachiness. Instead, I explore the ways in which superheroes help us to understand contemporary politics, pointing out the questions that they raise and the implications that those stories might have for real life.
